The season runs from early April until the end of June. The South Vancouver Island (SVI) Minor Fastpitch Association U11 Division has two tiers, U11 Rep and U11C. U11 Rep is generally for 2nd year and experienced players while U11C focuses on 1st year and brand new players and uses Machine/Coach pitch.

In 2024, Extreme plans to offer U11 Rep & U11C Fastball.

Schedule

In U11, there are 1-2 regular-season games per week. League games are usually on Saturdays at 11am-1pm or 1-3pm and/or Tuesday evenings.

Practice schedules vary from year to year and depend on coach preference but in the past, there have been 1-2 practices per week depending on the game schedule.

U11 teams will be given a schedule from SVI that runs from mid-April until U11 Districts near the end of June.

Age Requirements

In Spring 2024, U11 Fastball is for players born in 2013 and 2014.

It is possible for younger players to join if space is available, contact the Registrar if you would like to request your younger player to play at this level.

Team Selection

An assessment will take place prior to the season starting for those players interested in playing U11 Rep. A notice will go out in March so remember to register early if your player wishes to play U11 Rep.

For U11C we will make every effort to accommodate any friend or coaching request, but no guarantees can be made. Priority will be given to past Extreme players first, then on a first-come-first-served basis.

Uniforms

Players will receive a team uniform shirt and a hat that they get to keep at the end of the season (there is no uniform deposit). Please ensure that they wear it to each game. Players are required to wear black ball pants.

Equipment

Required equipment:

• batting helmet with a strap and cage
• glove
• cleats (recommended, but not mandatory, baseball or soccer cleats are fine)
• infield face guards for pitchers (recommended for all players, especially new players)
• black ball pants

Please ensure that you mark the player's name on everything. A white label or masking tape works well on the outside of the batting helmet and handwritten on labels in shirts, glove and hats
